Times: Check in begins promptly at 8 AM on Saturday and the closing ceremony will be at 10 AM on Sunday.

Location: Camp Tahuaya, Belton, TX

Cost: $20 (covers all meals, snacks and program materials)

Pre-requisites: BALOO participants must complete the online component prior to arrival. The course material can be found in your my.scouting account. There are no prerequisites for IOLS.

Need service or conservation hours and/or have an appreciation for Sid Richardson Scout Ranch? Come on out & join in helping us keep this beautiful camp in great condition.

All working trades are welcome! (Yes, we have tasks for all types of experience).  

Work projects include building the new armory, framing, drywall, repairing fiberglass on sailboats, work on boat trailers, and much, much, more!

The workday will be hosted from 8AM – 4PM, you do not have to stay the full day.

Cub Scout BB & Archery Instructor Training

You are invited to Cub Scout Range Master Training. You can get trained to run Cub Scout BB Gun and Archery Ranges at Council and District events. Shooting Sports are a major highlight in a Cub Scout's life and helping them learn a new skill is very gratifying. We hope you will consider getting trained so you can run ranges safely and effectively.

This certification is good for two years. Each session is approximately 3 hours in the morning with a lunch break, then 3 hours in the afternoon.

This event is for ages Tiger (those going into 1st grade in the fall) through Arrow of Light (those going into 5th grade in the fall). When registering your Scout, please register them for the rank they will be as of September 2024. Tigers MUST be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This event is not for children under the age of 6. Two-deep leadership is required at all times.

Cub-O is the most popular orienteering event in North America.  Almost 35,000 youth and adults have attended since 1998.  Units can make it a day trip or a weekend camp.  Dens can compete hard or take an easy, fun hike in the woods.  Both options are a great opportunity to teach youth about map reading, problem solving, and strategy.

Sid Richardson Turkey Hunt

Hunt on beautiful Sid Richardson Scout Ranch on the shores of Lake Bridgeport, which is just an hour and a half from Fort Worth.

The hunt or fishing will comply with Texas game laws. Hunts are 30 minutes before sunrise till 30 minutes after sunset. Spring turkey hunting on property is shotgun only.

Hunters are assigned zones in which to hunt the designated game species. Do not venture out of the designed hunting zone as other hunters may be on the ranch.
