Scout Sunday is traditionally held on the Sunday closest to Scouting America’s anniversary on February 8, though congregations may select a different date to meet their needs. For instance, the United Methodist Church observes Scout Sunday on the second Sunday in February to avoid conflict with Transfiguration Sunday. Individual churches may likewise choose an alternate Sunday. Scout Sabbath is typically observed on the Saturday following Scout Sunday, but congregations may designate another Sabbath if preferred.
